It describes what categories of personal data we collect, the purposes for which we use that data, your choices regarding use of personal data about you, our security measures, and how you can review and correct data about you. By accessing our website, you consent to the data collection and use practices described in this privacy statement.

We will collect and store your personal information when you interact with our website. We collect personal information in writing, by telephone, by e-mail and by online applications.

Data collected directly from visitors:

In most instances, you can visit the Techlift website without providing any personal data. However, on some pages, Techlift may ask you for personal data in order to provide a service or carry out a transaction you request.

The personal data that Techlift may collect includes:

  • Contact details — such as your name, title, company/organisation name, email address, telephone and fax numbers, and physical address;
  •  Information about your company and job position;
  • Your preferences with respect to email marketing;
  • Financial information, including credit card numbers, bank or customer account information and, in connection with credit requests, National Insurance Numbers or other national/tax identification numbers;
  • Information such as your nationality and country of residence. This allows us to determine eligibility under export control regulations to receive information about certain technologies;
  • Your inquiries about and orders for Techlift products and/or services, as well as information that assists Techlift in identifying the best products and/or services for you;
  • Feedback from you about our products and/or services.

You are not required to provide any of the above information.

However, if you exercise the right not to, Techlift may not be able to provide you with a requested product and/or service.

Data collected by automated methods:

We may collect data about all visitors and traffic through our website.

In particular, our website logs IP addresses, the type of operating system that the visitor’s computer uses, the type of browser software the visitor uses, and the pages or links accessed by the visitor.

Techlift uses this data to perform statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behaviour of our visitors and to measure overall user demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the website.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you exercise this right you may not be able to use the full functionality of Techlift’s website.

By using this website, you consent to the processing of your personal data by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out herein.

We will use your personal data only for the purposes set out below.

Except as otherwise allowed by this policy, Techlift will not trade, sell or rent personal information, but may collect, or provide aggregate statistics about its websites and their users to other parties who do not provide services directly to Techlift.

Business & Website Improvement:

We may use your personal data to improve our website, including the improvement of security of our website and information technology systems, and related products and/or services, or to make our website more accessible by eliminating the need for users to repeatedly enter the same information, or by customising our website to a user’s particular preference.

Marketing Communications and Research:

With your permission, we may use your personal data for conducting market research. This may include informing you of products and/or services available from Techlift. When collecting information that might be used to contact you about our products and/or services, we will give you the opportunity to opt-out from receiving such communications.

Each email Techlift sends will include an “unsubscribe” link, allowing you to stop delivery of that kind of communication.

Regulatory and Legal Obligations:

We may use your personal data to protect Techlift, its employees and business counter-parties against fraud and other criminal activity, to co-operate with law enforcement and other regulatory agencies.

We may also use your personal data when exercising and defending our legal rights and legal claims made against us.

Except in rare circumstances where Techlift is required by law to disclose or otherwise process your personal information, Techlift will only process your personal information as necessary for the purposes explained to you when the information is collected or otherwise set out in this policy.

To be able to process your data lawfully, Techlift relies on one or more of the following valid legal grounds:

  • Your consent to particular processing activities, such as where you have consented to Techlift using your information for marketing purposes;
  • Techlift’s legitimate interest as a business, such as to use your personal data to prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our website;
  • Techlift’s compliance with a legal obligation to which Techlift is subject. Techlift has a duty to investigate and respond to complaints and legal allegations made against it and may need to process your personal information in relation to such claims.

Except as described below, personal data that you provide to Techlift will not be shared outside of Techlift without your consent.

Techlift may share your personal information to technology and other service providers, including professional advisors, who hold and process the information on its behalf.

Techlift may also disclose your personal information if it has a good faith belief that doing so is necessary for the legal and compliance purposes set out above. For these purposes, Techlift may, for example, disclose information about you to courts and litigation counterparties, insurers, the police and other competent government authorities.

In connection with certain transactions, Techlift may disclose some or all of the personal data you provide to financial institutions, government entities and shipping companies or postal services involved in fulfilling the transaction.

Techlift may transfer personal information that it collects through its website to, and store such information in, countries other than the country from which that information was initially collected or the countries from which individual site visitors may access the website.

The countries, including the United Kingdom and Australia, to which we transfer your personal information may have different data protection laws than the countries from which the information was initially collected or from which individual site visitors access the website.

By choosing to use the Techlift website and to submit personal data to us through the website, you consent to the transfer of such information outside of your country.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will retain your personal information as long as it is needed for the purposes for which we obtained it, in accordance with this Privacy Statement, or if we have another lawful basis, stated in this Privacy Statement or at the point of collection, for retaining that information beyond the period for which it is necessary to serving the original purpose.

Right to withdraw consent:

You may, as permitted by law, withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal information at any time. Such withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your previous consent.

Please note that, if you withdraw consent, you may not be able to benefit from certain service features for which the processing of your personal information is essential.

Right to obtain copies of your personal information:

You have the right to obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you. However, you may be required to submit a proof of identity and pay an administration fee.

Right to object to processing:

You may, as permitted by law, request that we stop processing your personal information.

Right to erasure:

You may request that we erase your personal information. We will comply unless there is a lawful reason for not doing so.

Techlift may periodically update this privacy statement. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time and to notify you of those changes by posting an updated version of this policy on our website. When we do, we will revise the “effective” date at the top of the privacy statement. We will also alert you as to any changes made to this privacy statement via the “Thoughts” page on this website.
